REGISTRATION OF PERSONS ORDINANCE - SECT 3

Obligation to be registered

(1) Every person in Hong Kong is required to be registered under this
Ordinance, unless exempted or excluded from its provisions by regulations made
under section 7.

(2) Every person who is required by subsection (1) to be registered under this
Ordinance and who-

   (a)  is not the holder of an identity card; or

   (b)  is the holder of a permanent identity card that was issued on an
        application made from outside Hong Kong, shall apply to be so
        registered in such manner as may be prescribed in regulations made
        under section 7. (Replaced 32 of 1987 s. 5)
