FISHERIES PROTECTION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 2 Prohibition of the use of explosives VerDate:30/06/1997 No person with intent to capture fish shall use any explosive. FISHERIES PROTECTION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 3 Prohibition of the use of toxic substances VerDate:30/06/1997 No person with intent to capture fish shall use any toxic substance. FISHERIES PROTECTION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 4 Possession of explosives or toxic substances VerDate:30/06/1997 No person shall possess or have in his control any explosive or toxic substance for the purpose of fishing. FISHERIES PROTECTION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 4A Prohibition of use of apparatus VerDate:27/02/1999 (1) No person shall use for the purpose of fishing any apparatus of a class or description specified by the Director under subsection (2). (2) the Director may specify by notice published in the Gazette the class or description of apparatus for the purposes of subsection (1). (L.N. 15 of 1999) FISHERIES PROTECTION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 5 Liability of master, etc., of vessel VerDate:27/02/1999 In the event of any contravention of regulation 2, 3, 4 or 4A, the master or person in charge of- (a) any vessel upon which or from which such contravention was committed; or (b) any vessel used for or employed in the commission of such contravention, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of $200000 and to imprisonment for 6 months. (L.N. 3 of 1988; L.N. 15 of 1999) FISHERIES PROTECTION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 6 Exemptions VerDate:30/06/1997 The Director may by permit in writing exempt any person from all or any of the provisions of these regulations where he is satisfied that such exemption is reasonably necessary for the purpose of- (a) carrying out any scientific research; or (b) carrying on any bona fide business of fish culture in ponds or artificially enclosed waters. FISHERIES PROTECTION REGULATIONS - REGULATION 7 Penalties VerDate:27/02/1999 Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of regulation 2, 3, 4 or 4A, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine of $200000 and to imprisonment for 6 months.
