MERCANTILE MARINE ASSISTANCE FUND REGULATIONS - REGULATION 2 VerDate:01/07/1997 Adaptation amendments retroactively made - see 61 of 2000 s. 3 Any qualified person desiring such assistance shall send his application, with full particulars as to his circumstances, to the Director of Marine, who, after making such inquiry, if any, as he deems necessary, shall convene a meeting of the members of the Committee in Hong Kong to consider the case. (61 of 2000 s. 3) MERCANTILE MARINE ASSISTANCE FUND REGULATIONS - REGULATION 3 VerDate:30/06/1997 At any such meeting 3 members shall be deemed a quorum; the decisions of the Committee shall be determined by a majority of votes and the Chairman shall have an original vote and also, if the votes be equal, a casting vote. MERCANTILE MARINE ASSISTANCE FUND REGULATIONS - REGULATION 5 VerDate:01/07/1997 Adaptation amendments retroactively made - see 61 of 2000 s. 3 Assistance shall be of 3 descriptions- (a) the payment, in whole or in part, of passages from Hong Kong; (b) regular assistance in Hong Kong; (c) temporary assistance in Hong Kong. In no case shall it be granted to a person who has received a passage, or an assisted passage from Hong Kong and has returned thereto. (61 of 2000 s. 3) MERCANTILE MARINE ASSISTANCE FUND REGULATIONS - REGULATION 7 VerDate:01/07/1997 Adaptation amendments retroactively made - see 61 of 2000 s. 3 Regular assistance may be granted only to qualified persons who are Commonwealth citizens and who reside, or whose families reside in Hong Kong. (80 of 1982 s. 3; 61 of 2000 s. 3) MERCANTILE MARINE ASSISTANCE FUND REGULATIONS - REGULATION 8 VerDate:30/06/1997 Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained the Director of Marine may at any time grant temporary assistance as a charge on the Fund to an amount of or in value not exceeding $20 in respect of any one qualified applicant, on his own responsibility and without consulting the other members of the Committee, who however shall be informed thereof at their next meeting. MERCANTILE MARINE ASSISTANCE FUND REGULATIONS - REGULATION 9 VerDate:01/07/1997 Adaptation amendments retroactively made - see 61 of 2000 s. 3 The Committee shall, not later than 1 June, in each year, furnish to the Chief Executive a report on their administration of the Fund for the previous year.
