LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL RESOLUTIONS - SECT

Adaptation amendments retroactively made - see 63 of 1999 s. 3 Resolution made
and passed by the Legislative Council on 14 July 1954
RESOLVED that, wherever a gratuity is payable under regulation 29 of the
Pensions Regulations ( Cap 89 sub. leg.) to the dependants of a
non-pensionable officer whose service is terminated by his death, the Chief
Executive may grant whether or not such death occurred prior to the coming
into force of this Resolution, an ex gratia addition to such gratuity: (G.N.A.
144 of 1954; 63 of 1999 s. 3) Provided that the total amount of the gratuity
paid under regulation 29 of the Pensions Regulations ( Cap 89 sub. leg.) and
such ex gratia addition shall not exceed a total of 12 months' salary and cost
of living allowance. (G.N.A. 90 of 1954)
SPECIAL POLICE ALLOWANCE PENSIONABLE
Resolution made and passed by the Legislative Council under section 2A of the
Pensions Ordinance ( Cap 89) on 25 February 1970.
RESOLVED, pursuant to section 2A of the Pensions Ordinance ( Cap 89), that the
special addition to salary of the sum of $140 a month, payable to all members
of the Hong Kong Police Force below the rank of inspector and known as the
Special Police Allowance, be declared pensionable as a special allowance with
effect from 1 November 1967. (L.N. 29 of 1970; L.N. 362 of 1997)
