PENSIONS REGULATIONS - REGULATION 5

Gratuities where length of service does not qualify for pension

Every officer, otherwise qualified for a pension, who has not been in the
service under the Government in a civil capacity for 10 years, shall be
granted on retirement a gratuity not exceeding 7 times the annual amount of
the pension which, if there had been no qualifying period, might have been
granted to him under regulation 4.
