FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL UNDERTAKINGS (PROTECTION OF EYES) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 6

Protection of persons at risk from but not employed in a specified process

Where any specified process is being carried on in an industrial undertaking
and any person other than those employed in that process is employed in a
place where there is a reasonably foreseeable risk of injury to his eyes from
the carrying on of the process, the proprietor of the industrial undertaking
shall provide for the use of that person-

   (a)  approved eye protectors;

   (b)  an approved shield; or

   (c)  an approved fixed shield, as the case may require for the protection
        of his eyes, having regard to the specified process being so carried
        on and the risk of injury to his eyes from the carrying on of that
        process.
