Examination

(1) The owner of a lift shall cause it to be thoroughly examined by a
competent examiner at least once annually and a report of the examination to
be entered in the register kept under regulation 6. (L.N. 162 of 1976)

(2) Where an examination under paragraph (1) shows that the lift cannot be
used with safety unless certain repairs are carried out immediately, or within
a specified time, the examiner shall, not later than 28 days after the
completion of the examination, send a copy of the report of the examination to
the Commissioner.
