FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL UNDERTAKINGS (GOODS LIFTS) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 11
Offences by owners and others
(1) Any owner of a lift who contravenes any of the provisions of regulation 4
or 5(1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a
fine of $200000. (L.N. 325 of 1981)
(2) Any owner of a lift who contravenes any of the provisions of regulation 6,
7(6), 8(3) or 9(4) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on
conviction to a fine of $50000. (L.N. 325 of 1981)
(3) Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of regulation 9(2) or (3)
or 10 shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a
fine of $10000.
(4) Any person engaged in the operation of a lift who wilfully and without
reasonable cause does anything likely to endanger himself or others shall be
guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of $50000.
(5) Any person who knowingly misuses or interferes with any operation
mechanism or safety device fitted to any part of a lift or liftway shall be
guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of $50000.
