(Regulation 11(1))
The procedure for the compression of persons shall be as follows-
(1) The pressure shall not, in the first minute after starting compression, be
increased to more than 5 pounds per square inch.
(2) When the pressure referred to in sub-paragraph (1) is reached, the
pressure shall not be further increased until after the lapse of a period
sufficiently long to enable the lock attendant to discover whether or not any
person in the man-lock complains of discomfort.
(3) After the lapse of the period referred to in sub-paragraph (2), the
pressure shall be increased at a rate not faster than 10 pounds per square
inch per minute.
