CONSTRUCTION SITES (SAFETY) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 50

Lighting of working places, etc.

Where at a construction site any workman is required or authorized

(whether expressly or impliedly) to-

   (a)  work in any place on the site;

   (b)  use any approach to that place;

   (c)  be in any part of the site where raising or lowering operations are in
        progress; or

   (d)  be in the vicinity of any dangerous opening (whether in the ground or
        in a structure), the contractor responsible for the site and any
        contractor who has direct  control over any construction work engaged
        in by that workman shall ensure that the place, approach, part or
        opening is adequately and suitably lit to the extent necessary to
        secure that workman's safety. (L.N. 258 of 2003)
