MASS TRANSIT RAILWAY BY-LAWS - BYLAW 27
Prohibition on taking certain luggage, etc. and consumption of food or beverage
(Past version on 30/06/2000).
No person shall-
(a) bring into or upon the railway premises any luggage, article or other
thing which cannot be carried or otherwise accommodated on the railway
without risk of injury to any person or damage to any railway property
or without causing a nuisance or inconvenience to other persons using
the railway; or
(b) consume or attempt to consume any food or beverage (whether alcoholic
or non-alcoholic) within the paid area (except any train for the
carriage of passengers to Hong Kong from any other part of China or
vice versa by the Corporation or by third parties). (Enacted 1986.
