MERCHANT SHIPPING (LOCAL VESSELS) (COMPULSORY THIRD PARTY RISKS INSURANCE) REGULATION - SECT 12

Termination of policy

(1) Where to the knowledge of an authorized insurer a policy of insurance
issued by him for the purposes of the Ordinance ceases to be effective without
the consent of the person to whom it was issued otherwise than by effluxion of
time or by reason of his death, the authorized insurer shall forthwith notify
the Director and the Commissioner of Police of the date on which the policy
ceased to be effective.

(2) Any authorized insurer who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence
and is liable on conviction to a fine at level 2.

(3) Any person who by virtue of section 20 is guilty of an offence under
subsection (2) is liable on conviction to a fine at level 2 and to
imprisonment for 3 months.
