MERCHANT SHIPPING (LOCAL VESSELS) (CERTIFICATION AND LICENSING) REGULATION - SECT 28
Cancellation of interim ownership
(1) The Director shall cancel any certificate of ownership, and shall cancel a
full licence or temporary licence or revoke any permission
for a laid-up vessel (as applicable), in which a person is named as interim
owner of a local vessel if the Director ceases to be satisfied that the person
is a person referred to in section 26(2). The Director shall exercise the
power of cancellation or revocation by notice in writing given to the interim
owner concerned.
(2) The interim owner named in any certificate of ownership and a
full licence, temporary licence or permission for a laid-up vessel shall
deliver them to the Director, within 7 working days after their cancellation
or revocation under subsection (1).
(3) A person who without reasonable excuse contravenes subsection
(2) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine at level 3.
