ELECTORAL PROCEDURE (VILLAGE REPRESENTATIVE ELECTION) REGULATION - SECT 66

Returning Officer to declare election result

(1) When the counting of the votes and re-counts, if any, are completed and
the result of the election determined, the Returning Officer shall declare as
elected the candidate who was successful at the election under section 31(7)
of the Election Ordinance.

(2) If, before declaring a successful candidate to be elected, it comes to the
knowledge of the Returning Officer that the candidate has died or is
disqualified from being elected, section 21(3), (4), (5) and

(6) applies.
