ELECTORAL AFFAIRS COMMISSION (ELECTORAL PROCEDURE) (LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL) REGULATION - SECT 50

Ballot paper to be given to person only if Presiding Officer is satisfied of person's identity

(1) The Presiding Officer must not give a ballot paper to a person unless that
Officer is satisfied by inspecting that person's identity  document or any
other document showing the person's name and photograph that he or she is the
person registered in the final register, whom he or she claims to be.

(2) A person is not to be prevented from voting only due to an omission or
inaccuracy of a particular required to be recorded in a final  register, other
than the omission of both the person's name and the identity document number.
