ELECTORAL AFFAIRS COMMISSION (REGISTRATION) (ELECTORS FOR LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL FUNCTIONAL CONSTITUENCIES) (VOTERS FOR ELECTION COMMITTEE SUBSECTORS) (MEMBERS OF ELECTION COMMITTEE) REGULATION - SECT 16

Electoral Registration Officer to register persons in the functional constituencies provisional register or subsector provisional register in accordance with response to a notification

(1) If a recipient under section 13(5) elects to be registered, the
Electoral Registration Officer must register that recipient as an elector for
the Heung Yee Kuk functional constituency.

(2) Subject to section 17, if a recipient under section 14(5)
elects to be registered, the Electoral Registration Officer must register that
recipient as an elector for the functional constituency specified in the
notification, and, subject to section 15, as a voter for the
corresponding subsector.

(3) Subject to section 17, if a recipient under section 15(2)(a),

   (b)  or (c), (3) or (4) elects to be registered, the
        Electoral Registration  Officer must register that recipient as a
        voter for the corresponding  subsector, optional subsector or
        listed subsector, as may be applicable.

(4) If, under section 13(5) or section 14(5), a recipient-

   (a)  elects not to be registered; or

   (b)  informs the Electoral Registration Officer in writing that he or she
        is not or has ceased to be qualified to be registered as an elector
        for the functional constituency or as a voter for the subsector or
        both, as the case may be, for which the Electoral Registration Officer
        has proposed to register that recipient, (L.N. 255 of 2002) the
        Electoral Registration Officer must not register that recipient as an
        elector for the functional constituency or as a voter for the
        subsector.

(5) If, under section 15(2)(a)(i), (b)(i) or (c)(i), (3)(a) or

(4)(a), a recipient-

   (a)  elects not to be registered;

   (b)  elects to be registered for the corresponding subsector; or

   (c)  informs the Electoral Registration Officer that he or she is not or
        has ceased to be qualified to be registered for the corresponding 
        subsector, optional subsector or listed subsector, as the case may be,
        (L.N. 255 of 2002) the Electoral Registration Officer must not
        register that recipient as a voter for that optional subsector or
        listed subsector. (L.N. 575 of 1997)

(6) Subject to section 12(10) of the Schedule to the Chief 
Executive Election Ordinance ( Cap 569), if a recipient informs the
Electoral Registration Officer, not later than the due date that he or she
does not wish to be registered as an elector for a functional constituency or
as a voter for a subsector, the Electoral Registration Officer must not so
