ELECTORAL AFFAIRS COMMISSION (REGISTRATION OF ELECTORS) (LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTITUENCIES) (DISTRICT COUNCIL CONSTITUENCIES) REGULATION - SECT 14

Person may object to registration of registered person in the provisional register

PART III

NOTICE OF OBJECTION, NOTICE OF CLAIM AND CORRECTION OF PROVISIONAL REGISTER

(1) A person who considers that a registered person is not eligible to be
registered-

   (a)  as an elector; or

   (b)  in the section or subsection in which that person's name and
        principal residential address are recorded, (L.N. 284 of 1999) may
        make an objection to the registration of that person in the final
register by lodging a notice ("notice of objection") in accordance with
subsection (2).

(2) A notice of objection must be-

   (a)  in the specified form;

   (b)  addressed to the Electoral Registration Officer; and

   (c)  delivered by the objector in person at the office of the
        Electoral Registration Officer not later than 29 April of the year for
        which the relevant final register is being compiled. (L.N. 284 of

(3) The Electoral Registration Officer may require any person who lodges a
notice of objection to identify himself or herself by such means as that
Officer considers appropriate.

(4) In this section-

"elector" (選民) means a person who is entitled to vote at an election or
by-election held in respect of a geographical constituency;

"registered person" (已登記的人) means a person whose name is recorded in
