UNITED NATIONS SANCTIONS (CÔTE D’IVOIRE) REGULATION 2006 - SECT 9
Prohibition against importation of rough diamonds into HKSAR

Importation of rough diamonds
(1) A person shall not import any rough diamond from Côte d’Ivoire into the
HKSAR.
(2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is
liable—
(a) on conviction on indictment to a fine and to imprisonment for 2 years;
or
(b) on summary conviction to a fine at level 6 and to imprisonment for 6
months.
(3) In any proceedings for an offence under subsection (2), it is a defence
for a person charged to prove that he did not know and had no reason to
believe that the rough diamond concerned was imported from Côte d’Ivoire
into the HKSAR.
(4) This section does not operate so as to prejudice any other law prohibiting
or restricting the importation of rough diamonds into the HKSAR.
