PATENTS (GENERAL) RULES - SECT 30

Notification of deemed withdrawn application for standard patent

Where-

   (a)  an application for a standard patent has been deemed to be withdrawn
        and abandoned because a maintenance fee has not been paid within the
        period specified in section 33(2) and (3) of the Ordinance; and

   (b)  the extended period specified in section 33(4) of the Ordinance has
        expired without the maintenance fee and prescribed additional fee
        having been paid, the Registrar shall, within 6 weeks after the
        expiration of the extended period, notify the applicant of the
        standard patent of the fact and draw his attention to the provisions
        of section 34 of the Ordinance.
