MANDATORY PROVIDENT FUND SCHEMES (GENERAL) REGULATION - SECT 55
Approved trustee to give membership certificates to relevant employees
(1) Within 60 days after a relevant employee of a participating employer
becomes a member of a registered scheme, the approved trustee of the scheme
must give a membership certificate to the employee.
(2) A membership certificate must specify-
(a) the name of the scheme; and
(b) the name of the approved trustee of the scheme; and
(c) the address of the trustee's principal place of business in Hong Kong,
unless paragraph (d) applies; and
(d) the trustee's residential address if the trustee is a natural person
and does not have a place of business in Hong Kong; and
(e) the name of the scheme member; and
(f) the date of issue of the certificate.
(3) The approved trustee of a registered scheme may arrange to give to the
member's employer the membership certificate. In that case, that employer must
ensure that the certificate is given to the member within 7 working days after
the employer receives it.
(4) An approved trustee is not required to comply with this section in
relation to a casual employee who is a member of an industry scheme.
