MANDATORY PROVIDENT FUND SCHEMES (GENERAL) REGULATION - SECT 35

No fees etc. for transfer of accrued benefits in certain circumstances

(1) If, after contributions have ceased to be paid to a registered scheme by
or on behalf of a scheme member, no fees may be charged, and no financial
penalties may be imposed, for the transfer of the member's accrued benefits to
another scheme or from one account to another account within the scheme.

(2) Subsection (1) applies only to the first transfer of those benefits made
in respect of the member and only if-

   (a)  that transfer is made within not more than 12 months after the date on
        which the contributions ceased to be paid; and

   (b)  the amount of those benefits, at the time of the transfer, does not
        exceed $5000.
