HONG KONG COURT OF FINAL APPEAL RULES - RULE 51

Verifying application by affidavit

(1) An application (including an application for leave to appeal) containing
allegations of fact that cannot be verified by reference to the Record or any
certificate or duly authenticated statement of the court below, shall be
supported by affidavit which shall be filed and served with the application.

(2) An affidavit may contain, in addition to facts the deponent is able of his
own knowledge to prove, statements of information or belief with the sources
and grounds thereof.
