MERCHANT SHIPPING (SEAFARERS) (TANKERS- OFFICERS AND RATINGS) REGULATION - SECT 4A

Transitional and savings

(1) Subject to subsection (2), a seafarer shall be considered to have
completed the specialized training programme referred to in section  4 (4)(b)
if he has served in a relevant capacity on board the type of tanker concerned
for a period of not less than 1 year within the 5 years immediately prior to
his application for an endorsement on his certificate of competence or service
in respect of such service.

(2) Subsection (1) shall expire on 1 February 1999. (L.N. 107 of 1998)
