SEWAGE SERVICES (SEWAGE CHARGE) REGULATION - SECT 2

Sewage charges

(Past version on 30/06/1997).

(1) Subject to subsection (2), for the purposes of section 3(1) of the
Ordinance, the prescribed rate for each cubic metre of water (other than water
supplied specifically for flushing purposes) supplied during a billing
period—

   (a)  that commences in a period specified in column 2 of Part 1 of Schedule
        1 shall be the rate specified in column 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 1
        opposite to that period;

   (b)  that commences on or after 1 April 2018 shall be the rate specified in
        Part 2 of Schedule 1. (L.N. 96 of 2007)

(2) For a trade, business or manufacture listed in Schedule 2, the amount
charged under section 3(1) of the Ordinance shall be equal to 70% of the
volume of water supplied, other than water supplied specifically for flushing
purposes, multiplied by the rate prescribed under this section. (L.N. 143 of

Note: The amount of sewage charge payable pursuant to this section shall be
reduced in respect of-

   (a)  the period commencing on 1 April 2002 and ending on 31 March 2003
        (please see sections 2(2) and 5 of the Revenue (Variation and
        Reduction of Fees and Charges) Order 2002 ( Cap 2 sub. leg. R);

   (b)  bills scheduled to be issued within the period commencing on 1 August
        2003 and ending on 30 November 2003 (please see sections 1 to 3 of the
        Sewage Services (Reduction of Sewage Charge and Trade Effluent
        Surcharge) Regulation 2003 (L.N. 131 of 2003)).
