CRIMINAL JURISDICTION (SPECIFICATION OF TIME) RULES - RULE 2

Time within which a notice under section 8(1) shall be served on the prosecution by the defence

Any notice under section 8(1) of the Ordinance shall be served on the
prosecution-

   (a)  in the case of a trial in the High Court or the District Court, not
        later than-

        (i)    28 days before the commencement of the trial; or

        (ii)   such date before the commencement of the trial as the Court may
               specify in any case; or

   (b)  in the case of a trial in the magistrate's court, not later than-

        (i)    28 days before the date on which evidence is first received by
               a magistrate (excluding the plea day); or

        (ii)   such date before the date on which evidence is first received
               by a magistrate as the court may specify in any case. (Enacted
