SECURITY AND GUARDING SERVICES (LICENSING) REGULATION - SECT 3

Revocation of licence

(Past version on 30/06/1997).

(1) Six weeks before each anniversary of the date of issue or renewal of a
licence, the Authority may issue a demand note and a notification to the
licensee stating- (L.N. 135 of 2000)

   (a) the amount of annual fee payable under section 21A(b) or 23(5A)(b) (as
        the case may be) of the Ordinance and the due date therefor;

   (b) that failure to pay that fee on or before that date will invalidate
        the licence and that the invalidated licence will be revoked on the
        day following that date;

   (c) that if that licence is revoked, re-application for a licence is
        necessary for the continued operation of the activity which was
        authorized by the revoked licence; and

   (d) that continued operation of that activity without a licence
        constitutes an offence under section 31(1) of the Ordinance which may
        result in a fine at level 6 and imprisonment for 2 years.

(2) Two weeks before the due date for the payment of the annual fee, the
Authority may issue a second notification to the licensee reminding the
licensee of any outstanding fee payable on or before the due date therefor;
the notification may have statements as set out in subsection (1)(b), (c) and
(d).

(3) If the licensee fails to pay the annual fee as required, its licence
shall, by virtue of this subsection, be revoked on the day following the due
date for the payment of the fee; the Authority may serve a notice on the
licensee stating that the licence has been revoked on the day following the
due date, and a copy of the notice may be sent to the Commissioner. (Enacted
1995. L.N. 135 of 2000)
