AMUSEMENT RIDES (SAFETY) (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE) REGULATION - SECT 6
Owner of amusement ride to supply manuals
PART III
MANUALS AND LOG BOOKS
(1) The owner of an amusement ride shall-
(a) in the case of an existing amusement ride, not later than 3 months
after the appointed day;
(b) in any other case, before approval is given under section 10 of the
Ordinance to the commencement of operation of the ride, supply to the
Director-
(i) an emergency manual describing the responsibilities of and the
detailed emergency actions to be taken by the owner,
competent persons, chief operators and operators and the
emergency means of communication, equipment and instructions
for the safe rescue and evacuation of personnel and the
protection of property against damage;
(ii) an operation manual prepared by the designer or manufacturer of
the ride describing the function and operation of the
components of the ride and instructions for the safe usage of
the ride; and
(iii) a maintenance manual prepared by the designer or manufacturer
of the ride describing the recommended maintenance procedures
for the ride, including types of lubricants required and the
frequency of application, definitions and measurements to
determine excessive wear, the recommended frequency of
servicing of specific components and the periodic inspections
to be carried out.
(2) Where the designer or manufacturer of an amusement ride amends the
operation manual or maintenance manual prepared by him, the owner of the ride
shall notify the Director of such amendment as soon as reasonably practicable
after he receives the amendment from the designer or manufacturer. (Enacted
