Rescue of passengers

PART VI

RESCUE OPERATIONS AND EQUIPMENT

(1) The owner of an amusement ride shall not operate the ride-

(a) in the case of an existing amusement ride, on or after the expiration of 3
months immediately following the appointed day;

   (b)  in any other case, at any time, unless the equipment provided for and
        the method of the rescue of passengers have been approved by the
        Director.

(2) The owner of an amusement ride shall ensure that the equipment provided
for the rescue of passengers is regularly examined and kept in a safe state of
repair.

(3) The owner of an amusement ride shall ensure that, at all times when the
ride is in operation, there is on duty a sufficient number of persons trained
in the rescue of passengers.

(4) The competent person in respect of an amusement ride shall carry out
practice rescue operations on the ride at such intervals as may be required by
the Director. (Enacted 1994)
