AMUSEMENT RIDES (SAFETY) (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE) REGULATION - SECT 20
Notices to be displayed adjacent to amusement ride
(1) The owner of an amusement ride shall-
(a) in the case of an existing amusement ride, not later that 1 month
after the appointed day;
(b) in any other case, before approval is given under section 10 of the
Ordinance to the commencement of operation of the ride, display, and
thereafter keep displayed, notices in the English and Chinese
languages-
(i) containing, in respect of the ride, the matters specified in
subsection (2); and
(ii) that may be readily seen and read by a member of the public
being in the vicinity of the ride but, in any case, before he
uses the ride.
(2) A notice displayed in accordance with subsection (1) in respect of an
amusement ride shall-
(a) warn of any structural, electrical, mechanical or physical danger of
the ride;
(b) state the maximum number of passengers and weight permitted to be
carried on the ride;
(c) prohibit the carriage of goods as specified in section 12;
(d) prohibit the carriage of persons as specified in section 13;
(e) state the requirement for wearing safety equipment when specified;
(f) state the minimum height of a passenger permitted to be carried on the
ride;
(g) state the requirement of parents or guardians attending children; and
(h) contain such other matters that may be required by the Director or the
designer or manufacturer of the ride. (Enacted 1994)
