AMUSEMENT RIDES (SAFETY) (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE) REGULATION - SECT 2

Interpretation

In this Regulation, unless the context otherwise requires-

"chief operator" (主操作員), in relation to any duty required to be
performed by him under this Regulation, means an operator who has been
appointed under section 8(4)(b) to be a chief operator;

"competent person" (主管人員), in relation to any duty required to be
performed by him under this Regulation, means a person who-

   (a)  is employed by the owner of an amusement ride as a competent  person
        pursuant to section 8(1); and

   (b)  has been approved under section 5(2);

"operator" (操作員), in relation to any duty required to be performed by
him under this Regulation, means a person who is employed by the owner of an
amusement ride as an operator pursuant to section 8(1);

"qualified person" (合資格人員), in relation to the carrying out of any
examination required to be performed by him under this Regulation, means a
person who-

   (a)  not being employed by the owner of an amusement ride, is appointed by
        the owner to carry out any examination; and

   (b)  has been approved under section 5(3);

"surveyor" (檢測員), in relation to the carrying out of any examination
required to be performed by him under this Regulation, means a person who-

   (a)  not being employed by the owner of an amusement ride, is appointed by
        the owner to carry out any examination; and

   (b)  has been approved under section 5(1). (Enacted 1994)
