AMUSEMENT RIDES (SAFETY) (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE) REGULATION - SECT 19

Communications systems

(1) The Director may require the owner of an amusement ride to provide a
communications system for the ride, for which purpose the Director may-

   (a)  specify the type of communications system;

   (b)  require the owner to take steps to ensure that announcements on that
        system are in the English language in addition to the Chinese
        language.

(2) Where an amusement ride is provided with a communications  system, the
chief operator on duty when the ride is in operation shall not operate the
ride unless the communications system is in good working order.

(3) In this section-

"communications system" (通訊系統) includes a system of intercommunication
by radio or telephone, a public-address system and portable loud hailers;

"good working order" (良好操作性能), in relation to a
communications system, means the communications system provides safe and
effective communication at all times. (Enacted 1994)
