AMUSEMENT RIDES (SAFETY) (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE) REGULATION - SECT 18

Periodic examination of amusement ride

(1) The owner of an amusement ride shall ensure that the ride is examined by a
surveyor not less than once every 12 months, the examination to include any
structure, electrical, mechanical and safety equipment that may be necessary
to ascertain the integrity and safe operation of the ride.

(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), the Director may require the examination
referred to in that subsection to be carried out at any time if, in his
opinion, the condition of the amusement ride or any part of the ride is such
as to require examination.

(3) The owner of an amusement ride shall ensure that a report of every
examination required under this section, prepared by the surveyor making the
examination, is sent to the Director not later than 30 days after such
examination is completed. (Enacted 1994)
