AMUSEMENT RIDES (SAFETY) (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE) REGULATION - SECT 14

Operation at night and in inclement weather

(Past version on 30/06/1997).

(1) The owner of an amusement ride shall ensure that adequate lighting is
provided at all times for the safe operation and maintenance of the ride.

(2) Where an amusement ride is exposed to the weather, or partly exposed to
the weather, the chief operator on duty shall, upon the hoisting at the Hong
Kong Observatory of the No. 3 visual storm warning, cause the operation of the
amusement ride to be stopped and, after all passengers being carried on the
ride have safely alighted, secure the ride in a safe position. (L.N. 362 of
1997)

(3) Where the weather conditions are such as to prejudice the safe operation
of an amusement ride, the chief operator on duty shall stop the operation of
the ride. (Enacted 1994)
