AMUSEMENT RIDES (SAFETY) (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE) REGULATION - SECT 11

Certain occurrences to be reported

(1) The owner of an amusement ride shall forthwith report to the Director-

   (a)  the death of any person occurring in connection with the ride;

   (b)  an injury to any person occurring in connection with the ride that
        requires hospitalization or treatment by medical professionals;

   (c)  the failure of any ride (other than mains power supply failure),
        including-

        (i)    structure, drive system, control and safety devices; and

        (ii)   any part of the ride where such failure may prejudice the safe
               operation of the ride;

   (d)  any rescue operation;

   (e)  any fire;

   (f)  any ground settlement or landslide; or

   (g)  any other occurrences as may be required by the Director.

(2) Subsection (1) shall not derogate from a provision in any other enactment
requiring the happening of any occurrence specified in that subsection to be
reported to any person.

(3) Where an amusement ride has been involved in an occurrence specified in
subsection (1), the Director may-

   (a)  seize any part of the amusement ride; and

   (b)  detain that part for so long as is reasonably necessary to examine it.
