Nomination and deposit

(1) The returning officer shall not accept a nomination paper unless it is
accompanied by the appropriate deposit.

(2) Where a deposit is received by the returning officer, he shall issue a
receipt for the amount of the deposit.

(3) In this section "appropriate deposit" (適當的按金), in relation to a
constituency, means the amount which is prescribed by any regulations made
under the Legislative Council (Electoral Provisions) Ordinance ( Cap 381) as
the deposit payable as regards the nomination of a candidate in respect of the
constituency. (Enacted 1995) "appropriate deposit" (適當的按金)
