BOUNDARY AND ELECTION COMMISSION (ELECTORAL PROCEDURE) (FUNCTIONAL CONSTITUENCIES AND ELECTION COMMITTEE CONSTITUENCY) REGULATION - SECT 50
Counting of votes

(1) The votes recorded for each candidate shall be counted as follows-
(a) in the case of the Urban Council functional constituency, the Regional
Council functional constituency and the Rural functional constituency,
the votes shall be counted according to Part III of Schedule 2;
(b) in the case of a functional constituency other than a functional
constituency referred to in paragraph (a), the returning officer
shall-
(i) mix the ballot papers taken from at least 2 polling stations;
(ii) subject to section 52, cause the ballot papers to be separated
with reference to the candidate for whom the vote has been
recorded;
(iii) count the votes recorded for each candidate; and
(c) in the case of the election committee constituency, the counting of
the votes shall be in accordance with Part III of Schedule 3.
(2) The returning officer shall, as far as practicable, proceed with the
counting of votes continuously until the count is completed. (Enacted 1995)
