BOUNDARY AND ELECTION COMMISSION (ELECTORAL PROCEDURE) (GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTITUENCIES) REGULATION - SECT 60
Adjournment of poll at a particular polling station

(1) If at any time during polling in respect of an ordinary election or a
by-election, it appears to the presiding officer in respect of a particular
polling station, that the poll at that polling station is being or is likely
to be obstructed, disrupted, undermined or seriously affected by-
(a) a typhoon or other climatic condition of a serious nature;
(b) an emergency due to natural causes or a catastrophe;
(c) riot, open violence or other occurrence of public danger; or
(d) a material irregularity relating to the poll, which has already
arisen, or is likely to arise, he may adjourn the poll at that polling
station, by declaring in a notice-
(i) published in the Gazette; or
(ii) if such publication is not practicable in the circumstances,
published by some other means determined by the Commission,
that such poll is adjourned.
(2) The presiding officer shall, in a notice-
(a) referred to in subsection (1); or
(b) published in the Gazette as soon as practicable after the publication
of a notice under subsection (1); or
(c) if publication under paragraph (b) is not practicable in the
circumstances, published by some other means determined by the
Commission, specify the relevant date appointed under section 64 for
holding a poll in place of the adjourned poll. (Enacted 1994)
