BOUNDARY AND ELECTION COMMISSION (ELECTORAL PROCEDURE) (GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTITUENCIES) REGULATION - SECT 49

(1) The returning officer shall make known to the candidates or their
respective election agents or counting agents who are present within the
counting station, the result of the counting of the votes when the count is
completed under section 48(3). (L.N. 221 of 1995)

(2) A candidate or his election agent, if present when the counting or a
re-counting of the votes in respect of the relevant constituency is completed,
may request the returning officer to cause the counted or re-counted votes, as
the case may be, to be counted again and the returning officer shall comply
with any such request unless in his opinion it is unreasonably made.

(3) Nothing further shall be done on the completion of a counting or
re-counting of the votes until each candidate present at such completion or
each election agent of a candidate if so present is given a reasonable
opportunity to make the request referred to in subsection (2). (Enacted 1994)
