BOUNDARY AND ELECTION COMMISSION (ELECTORAL PROCEDURE) (GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTITUENCIES) REGULATION - SECT 30

Offences at polling stations

(1) A person, not being-

   (a)  the returning officer;

   (b)  a member of the Commission or any person authorized for the purpose in
        writing by a member of the Commission;

   (c)  the Chief Electoral Officer;

   (d)  an officer appointed under section 20(1)(a);

   (e)  a person authorized in writing by the returning officer to act as a
        liaison officer; or

   (f)  police officers on duty at any polling station, shall not communicate
        with an elector within a polling station.

(2) A person shall not on the polling day-

   (a)  without the express permission of the presiding officer, film, take
        photographs or make any audio or video recording;

   (b)  engage in the canvassing of votes; or

   (c)  display an election advertisement, within a polling station.

(3) A person who contravenes subsection (1) or (2) commits an offence and is
liable to a fine at level 2 and imprisonment for 3 months.

(4) A person who fails to comply with a lawful order given by the returning
officer or the presiding officer or behaves in a disorderly manner in a no
canvassing area or a no staying area or within or at a polling station commits
an offence and is liable to a fine at level 2 and imprisonment for 3 months.

(5) Subsection (4) is without prejudice to sections 26(2) and 39(2). (Enacted
