BOUNDARY AND ELECTION COMMISSION (ELECTORAL PROCEDURE) (GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTITUENCIES) REGULATION - SECT 13

Holding of poll or declaration of election without poll

Where, after-

   (a)  the nomination period has expired;

   (b)  the returning officer has made a decision in respect of each candidate
        under section 9(1); and

   (c)  any withdrawals of candidature, in respect of any constituency-

        (i)    the number of validly nominated candidates is more than one, a
               poll shall be held in respect of that constituency in
               accordance with Part III; or

        (ii)   there is only one validly nominated candidate, that candidate
               shall be declared elected in the notice of nominations
               published under section 12. (Enacted 1994)
