COMPANIES REGISTRY TRADING FUND - SCHEDULE 1

SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY THE TRADING FUND

(Past version on 30/06/1997).

1. Administering and enforcing the provisions of the Companies  Ordinance (
Cap 32), including facilitating the incorporation of new companies and
maintaining registers of companies and charges.

2. Administering and enforcing the provisions of the Limited 
Partnerships Ordinance ( Cap 37), including maintaining the register of
limited partnerships.

3. Administering and enforcing the provisions of Part VIII of the
Trustee Ordinance ( Cap 29), including maintaining the Register of Trust
Companies.

4. Administering and enforcing the provisions of the Registered 
Trustees Incorporation Ordinance ( Cap 306), including maintaining the
register of incorporated trustees.

5. Making available, where the Registrar of Companies is so required or
permitted by law, information registered or filed with the Registrar.

6. Monitoring the adequacy of the regulatory framework embodied in any
Ordinance referred to in this Schedule and in other Ordinances where the
Registrar of Companies has been specified, and advising the Government on any
need for change.

6A. Supporting the Financial Reporting Council established by section 6(1) of
the Financial Reporting Council Ordinance ( Cap 588) in the performance of its
functions by—

   (a)  providing the service of the Registrar of Companies as an ex officio
        member of the Council; and

   (b)  making contributions, whether in cash or in kind, to sponsor the
        performance by the Council of any of its functions.

7. Any service that the Registrar of Companies may be authorized to provide
under or by virtue of any other Ordinance.

8. Providing advice or information on any matter that lies within the
expertise of the Registrar of Companies.

9. Any service incidental to or conducive to the provision of any of the
services specified in this Schedule. (Enacted 1993)
