Power of Director to grant licence

PART II

QUARANTINE AND OBSERVATION CENTRES

Licensed quarantine and observation centres

(1) Upon application in the specified form, and payment of the appropriate
licence fee prescribed in Part I of Schedule 1, the Director may grant a
licence to any person to maintain a quarantine centre or observation centre.

(2) A licence granted under subsection (1) shall-

   (a)  be in the specified form;

   (b)  specify the name and address of the licensee;

   (c)  specify the place at which such quarantine centre or observation
        centre shall be maintained; and

   (d)  specify the conditions, if any, subject to which it is granted.

(3) The Director may, upon application to him and payment of the appropriate
licence fee prescribed in Part I of Schedule 1, renew or vary a licence
granted under subsection (1).

(4) A licence under this section may be granted, renewed or varied subject to
such conditions as the Director considers necessary or expedient for the
proper management of the centre and to prevent the introduction or spread of
rabies.

(5) Unless cancelled under section 6 a licence granted under subsection (1)
shall remain in force for 1 year from the date on which it is granted or
renewed. (Enacted 1994)
