Restriction on import of animals, carcasses and animal products

PART III

IMPORTATION OF ANIMALS, CARCASSES AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS

(1) No person shall import or cause, suffer or permit to be imported into Hong
Kong any animal, carcass or animal product except under and in accordance with
a permit to do so issued by an authorized officer.

(2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable
to a fine of $50000 and to imprisonment for 1 year.

(3) Where subsection (1) is contravened the owner and the operator of any
conveyance in or on which the animal, carcass or animal product was imported
into Hong Kong shall each be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine of
$25000 and to imprisonment for 6 months. (Enacted 1994)
