MERCHANT SHIPPING (REGISTRATION) (FEES AND CHARGES) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 8

Fees for services outside office hours

(1) Subject to subregulation (2), where the issue of any certificate or
clearance is dependent upon any survey or inspection or where any other
service is required to be undertaken by an officer of the Marine Department
outside office hours, either at the registry of shipping or at any other place
in Hong Kong, there shall be payable, in addition to the appropriate fee
specified in these regulations and the Schedule, if any, a fee in respect of
each officer based upon the following scale- On weekdays-

   (a)  between the hours of
7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
or
5 p.m. and 7 p.m. ﹜ $1115 per hour or part hour

   (b)  before 7 a.m. or
after 7 p.m. ﹜ $2215 per hour or part hour
On Saturdays (afternoon),
Sundays or Public Holidays ﹜ $3270 per hour or part hour

(2) Where an applicant gives not less than 3 days' notice of a requirement for
any survey, or inspection or other service to the Director, but
notwithstanding such notice the Director causes the survey, or inspection or
other service to be undertaken outside office hours, no additional fee
specified in subregulation (1) shall be payable unless the applicant has
requested that the service be undertaken outside office hours. (Enacted 1990)
