MERCHANT SHIPPING (CONTROL OF POLLUTION BY NOXIOUS LIQUID SUBSTANCES IN BULK) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 14

Unassessed liquid substance - discharge

(1) The discharge into the sea of any unassessed liquid substance carried in
bulk, or of a residual mixture containing any such substance, is prohibited
except where-

   (a)  the Director has given written approval to its carriage; and

   (b)  any conditions relating to discharge subject to which that approval
        was given are complied with.

(2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1), any such discharge is prohibited in
the Antarctic area. (Enacted 1987; L.N. 186 of 1995)
