ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS (SAFETY) REGULATION - SCHEDULE 5
REQUIREMENTS FOR RECOGNITION AS RECOGNIZED MANUFACTURERS
(Past version on 24/10/1997).
[section 10(2) & (15)]
A manufacturer applying for recognition as a recognized manufacturer shall
satisfy the following requirements, namely-
(a) the manufacturer's laboratory has obtained accreditation under-
(i) HOKLAS;
(ii) a laboratory accreditation scheme outside Hong Kong which has
entered into a mutual recognition agreement with the
HOKLAS Executive or the HKAS Executive; or (L.N. 77 of 2000)
(iii) a scheme for assessment of testing laboratory as listed in the
publication of the International Directory of Laboratory
Accreditation Systems published by the National Association of
Testing Authorities of Australia amended from time to time; and
(b) the manufacturer shall have a quality system that conforms to ISO 9002
"Specification for Product and Installation" and a quality assurance
certificate issued by a Quality System Registration Body as listed in
the publication of the Directory of Quality System Registration Bodies
published by the International Organisation for Standardization
amended from time to time.
