ELECTRICITY (WIRING) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 24

Offences and penalties

(1) A person who contravenes regulation 4(5) or (6), 20 or 22(2) commits an
offence and is liable to a fine of $10000.

(2) An owner of a fixed electrical installation who fails to comply with the
requirements of regulation 17(1), (2), (4), (5) or (6) commits an offence and
is liable to a fine of $10000.

(3) An owner of a fixed electrical installation who causes or knowingly allows
another person to contravene regulation 18 commits an offence and is liable to
a fine of $50000 on a first conviction and a fine of $100000 on a subsequent
conviction for the same offence and in either case is liable to imprisonment
for 6 months. (Enacted 1990)
