ELECTRICITY (REGISTRATION) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 18

Transitional registration periods

PART VI

TRANSITIONAL

(1) During the first-

   (a)  18 months after commencement of section 30; and

   (b)  6 months after commencement of section 33, the Director may, after the
        date of commencement of sections 31 and 34 and notwithstanding
        regulation 12, extend the period of validity of the registration of-

        (i)    a worker for up to 4 1/2 years after the commencement of
               section 31; and

        (ii)   a contractor for up to 3 1/2 years after the commencement of
               section 34.

(2) Notwithstanding regulation 11(1), the Director may defer the issue of a
certificate of registration for a worker or contractor referred to in
subregulation (1) until the Governor appoints a day for the commencement of
sections 31 and 34. (Enacted 1990)
