ELECTRICITY (EXEMPTION) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 2
Restriction on exemption under section 9
(Past version on 30/06/1997).
The Director may only make an exemption order under section 9 in respect of
fixed electrical installations that are used for the purpose of-
(a) generating and supplying electricity;
(b) operating railway services;
(c) operating or controlling the cars, trucks or signalling systems that
are used for the traffic of a tramway;
(d) providing or maintaining public telecommunications services;

(e) operating or maintaining tunnels that are used for road or rail
traffic;
(f) operating or maintaining aerial ropeways;
(g) producing, relaying or transmitting television or radio programmes for
public reception; or
(h) operating or controlling lifts or escalators as defined in the
Lifts and Escalators (Safety) Ordinance ( Cap 327). (Enacted 1990)
