ROAD TRAFFIC (SAFETY EQUIPMENT) REGULATIONS - REGULATION 12

Offences

(Past version on 01/01/2001).
(Past version on 01/07/1997).
(Past version on 30/06/1997).

(1) Any person who contravenes regulation 3, 4, 7(1) or (2), 7A(1) or (2),
7B(1) or (5) or 8B commits an offence and is liable to a fine of $5000 and to
imprisonment for 3 months. (L.N. 37 of 1989; L.N. 162 of 2000)

(2) Any person who uses or causes or permits to be used on a road a vehicle
which does not comply with any of the requirements of regulation 6, 6A, 6B,
6C, 8A or 9 commits an offence and is liable to a fine of $5000 and to
imprisonment for 3 months.

(3) Any driver of-

   (a)  a private car, who contravenes regulation 7(3) or 7B(2), (3) or

(6); or

   (b)  a private light bus or goods vehicle, who contravenes regulation
        7A(3), without reasonable excuse, commits an offence and is liable to
